The new administration of the historic MEAS TRITON promises strong social impact, ahead of the 70th anniversary of its founding, as well as the upcoming 20^th Anniversary of International Marathon “Alexander the Great”-bwin and the 13^th International Thessaloniki Night Half Marathon-ZeniΘ, the two largest road running events in Northern Greece. Successful entrepreneurs and distinguished figures from the social, athletic and political life of the region, all individuals of notable recognition in their respective fields, with vision and a strong are willing to contribute, so that MEAS TRITON operates in accordance with the demands of the modern era.

The elections for MEAS TRITON new Board of members, which will serve a three-year period, were held on Monday, July 7^th at the Association’s Central Offices at the National Kaftanzoglio Stadium. Subsequently, the new Board convened and was constituted as follows:

At the same time, the three-member Audit Committee of MEAS TRITON was elected, consisting of Giannis Podiotis, Babis Andreadis and Manolis Proimos. The new administrative structure will immediately proceed with the allocation of responsibilities and will take action, aiming to significantly strengthen the club’s track and field department, the development of its academies as well as its competitive division, the revival of the excursion department, and at the same time the improvement of the quality of the two major road running events with their enormous athletic, social, cultural, commercial and tourism benefits for the city of Thessaloniki and the wider region of Central Macedonia.

In view of assuming its duties, the new administration of MEAS TRITON, addressing the society of our city and our country, made the following statements:

Nikos Konstantinidis (Founder of the ANADOMO Group, President of MEAS TRITON): “It is a great honor for me to take the helm of a historic club such as MEAS TRITON. There were two factors that forced me decide to run for office and be elected: The first was that TRITON it is a historic association that offers to the city and has even more to offer. I want to contribute administratively so that we succeed and ensure that the next day is the one TRITON deserves. The second factor was that the city is now ready to embrace a club and everything it has to offer, as the city is now led by a Mayor who can both listen and understand the potential that TRITON and its road running events have.”

Theodoros Mitrakis (President of the Regional Council of Central Macedonia, First Vice President of MEAS TRITON): “First of all, I would like to congratulate the outgoing Board for their contribution and for the high level at which they managed to maintain the club in previous years. As for the new administration, Triton’s history is binding for all of us to offer and to exhaust every possible margin of our capabilities in order to keep the club’s operation at this high level. Sport is a central pillar of every society and we are determined to give our very best in order to keep young people close to sport and to expand the club’s activities.”

Kleovoulos Theotokis (Entrepreneur, Second Vice President of MEAS TRITON): “I am particularly happy that the members of our club elected me for a second term on Triton’s Board of Directors. Our club writes its own history in Thessaloniki and my joy is even greater because the new administration will be the one to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the ALEXANDER THE GREAT Marathon in 2026, as well as the 70th anniversary of the club’s founding in 2027. The new administration, which consists of people from Thessaloniki’s society, both from the business and political fields, aims to unite the citizens of Thessaloniki around our club and our actions, always with the main criterion of promoting volunteerism, sport, and a healthy way of life.”

Vasilis Blesios (Entrepreneur, General Secretary of MEAS TRITON): “Triton is one of the most important track and field clubs in Greece, organizing two of the largest road running events in the country, the ALEXANDER THE GREAT Marathon and the Thessaloniki Night Half Marathon; it is a historic association. The new administration consists of people of recognized value and aims to further expand Triton’s footprint in the competitive sector as well, beyond the major road running events, so that the running movement in Greece can grow even more. Together we will contribute to the further development of track and field in our city and in Greece.”

Maria-Nefeli Chatzioannidou (Member of Greek Parliament, Member of the Board of MEAS TRITON): “It is a great joy and honor for me to be elected as one of the new members on the Board of Directors of MEAS TRITON, a club with tremendous history. Respecting this entire journey, we come to give a new impetus, with new ideas for the sport. Sport is limitless, and so are TRITON’s opportunities.”
